Many experts agree that this variety of grape is indigenous to La Rioja. It’salsoknown as Couravillade andXeres.
While being a low-yielding variety, it has a very aromatic smell, an intense color, fruit flavour and it’s tannic with a high level of acidity making it appropriate for the aging process.
In 2011, La Rioja cultivated approximately 1000Ha of this grape.

It is the most highly celebrated white variety of the vineyards of La Rioja, producing well-balanced wine with a tinge of acidity, an honest bouquet and fresh yet fleeting fruity memories. Its slow oxidation process makes it the ideal variety for aging.
As the most renowned and prestigious variety of grape in La Rioja its considered to be one of the best and noblest red grapes, also known as Cencibel, tinta de Toro, Tinto Fino o Negral.
The wine it produces is very fruity with strawberry, plum, cherry and raspberry flavours, among others. They’re not excessively alcoholic, they’re low in acidity and they have a high tannin count.
They can be drunk as a Young wine or aged, and are famous for their structure, personality and elegance.
85% of vineyards cultivated in La Rioja are of this variety.
This variety is also known as Tinto aragonés o Grenache. It can be found in almost all viticulture regions around the world, and it has adapted perfectly to the commonly found arid and warm religions of Spain.
The wines are fruity, with a full body, lightly acidic with a flavor full of spices and more alcohol tan the tempranillo variety. In 2011 it made of 10% on the vineyards in La Rioja, around 5900Ha.
Malvasia refers to a group of wine grape varieties originally from the Mediterranian region, however it is currently being grown in winemaking regions around the world.
While the term Malvasia is generally used to denote a white variety of grape, the Malvasia negra is used to make red wine.
There is a wide variety of differences within this family of grape: the plant morphology, the colour, the taste, the biochemical composition of the fruit, the rate of maturity, and the productivity and aptitude for vinification.
The vines of the Malvasia grape can belong to one of two groups: those that let off a slight aroma of muscatel and those of a less obvious flavour.
The Verdejo is a high quality grape, one of the best white grapes in Spain. The vine grows horizontally; its rapidly growing stem has a small-medium size pentagonal leaf, with a medium-sized petiolarsinus which opens only slightly, a hairless back, and nerves and petiole with little or no hair.
The cluster is of small to medium size and stalk, very short. The berries themselves a re also small to medium in size, most often spherically or elliptically shaped and a yellowy colour.
The pips are usually quite big; they are visible when the grape is held to the light.
The muscatel grape family includes 200 varieties of grape belonging tothe Vitis Vinifera family. This grape has been used in wine production, and as grapes and raisins, around world for centuries.
Its colours range from whitish (commonly known as muscatottonel), to yellow (muscatel giallo), to pink (Trentino pink muscatel) and, finally, to blackish (Hamburg muscatel).
Both the wine and muscatel grapes almost always have a strong, sweet, floral aroma. The sheer amplitude and number of muscatel varieties seem to suggest that perhaps they originate from a much older variety, and there are several theories that speculate that many grape families within the Vitis Vinifera are descendants of this muscatel grape.
